Hunger and Thirst
Matthew 5:6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.
How’s your appetite? I am not talking about your physical appetite. I am talking about your spiritual appetite. How is it? Do you hunger and thirst after righteousness, for the fullness and power of the Holy Spirit in your life? Do you yearn for God? Our yearning for God must overthrow all other desires in our lives. It must be this gnawing hunger and unquenchable thirst that we have. The bible tells us that those who hunger after righteousness will receive it. We must passionately desire a righteous life and thirst after God himself.
The psalmist says “As the deer pants for the water brooks, so pants my soul for You, O God. (Psalm 42:1). Is your soul panting after God? Are you hungry for God? Or do you feed off God only when you’re in desperate need? To receive the promised reward from Matthew 5:6, all we must do is meet two requirements:
* We must be thirsty for more of God, and
* We must be hungry for more of God
That’s all! It’s that simple. When we thirst and hunger after God, we are for sure to be filled with His amazing peace, love, mercy, joy, and forgiveness. A righteous woman of God passionately desires a righteous life and is desperate to be filled and empowered with Jesus. Woman of God, I pray that your desire for God has grows intensely. And that you are hungry and thirsty for more of God today then you were yesterday! I pray you were filled to the overflow! God Bless!
