Matthew 11:28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest,’ Jesus said”
The world says God will love us if we change, but God says, "I will change you, because I love you, if you only come unto me!" Fixing yourself up and trying to get right first before you come to Jesus is just a waste of time. I tried to clean up my act myself once and it didn’t work. I just managed to make a bigger mess of my life than I already had.
You know one thing the enemy likes to do is make us feel uncomfortable in the presence of Jesus. He likes to make us feel guilty of what we are doing so we won’t come to Jesus. Often, we feel as if we need to clean up before we are accepted by God to receive His mercy and grace. But that is the total opposite of how God works. Remember that we are not the ones that need to bring the sacrifice; God is the One who did that for us by allowing Jesus to die on the cross for us. The death and Resurrection of Jesus is God’s proof on that. Jesus spread out his arms and said, “I love you this much. Now, just come as you are.”
Whatever your need is today, God wants you to come to Him just as you are, and He will do the mending and molding in your life. Don’t try to get things right first before coming Jesus. Don’t try to partially atone for your sins before approaching God, come as you are and let Him do the fixing and the mending!
