RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD
The most important relationship we will ever have in our life is our relationship with God. And because it’s the most important, you need to understand the basic nature and character of God in order to have a healthy relationship with Him. Misunderstanding God’s character and nature is one of the reasons many don’t pursue or just don't have a positive relationship with Him. We see this in the garden of Eden when Adam and Eve were tempted by the serpent. Because they gave into temptation, they disobeyed God and it brought consequences for the entire world. Their lack of understanding God’s nature was actually a part of the tempation.

Read Genesis 3: 1-5. In these verses Satan convinces Adam and Eve that God is not really a good God because He was trying to hide something from them. He was trying to convince them that God didn’t really want them to be like God and to reach their full potential. And the reason God made the rule of not eating the forbidden fruit, was to hinder or hurt them. In a sense, Satan came against the very nature and character of God by convincing them that God did not want the best for them. How many times has Satan convinced you that God didn’t really care or love you? Or that God really didn't want the best for you by not answering your prayer? Or how many times did Satan try to turn the blame on God and make it look like it was God's fault that your life is a chaotic mess.
Don’t feel bad if Satan has tricked you, he has tricked me before too. But thank God that as I draw closer to God in relationship, I am able to discern when Satan comes at me with His lies. And the truth is… God is good! He is a good, good Father. And He loves you dearly. And what the enemy has brought in your life for bad, God being the good Father He is, always turns it around for our own good and His glory.

God’s heart is to reconcile our hearts back to His. We need to understand God’s real heat, that “God is love” (1 John 4:8). God seeks to take away your sins and anything that would separate you from Him. You can have a relationship with God today regardless of the failures in your life. All He asks is that you put your faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and trust Him wholeheartedly. Will you do that today? Will you seek an intimate relationship with our Father God? Call on Him today! He’s waiting for you!
